Hello Thunder Families,
I hope that you are all looking forward to the 2024 season!
After 3 years of discussion and hard work, our executive team has implemented the volunteer bond of $100.00 per family for players U9 and up. This volunteer bond is cleared once 5 hours of volunteer hours per family are completed.
As the players get older our organization needs more support in hosting and running activities and events for them. The volunteer bond is designed to encourage our members to assist where needed in order for Wilmot Softball Association to continue to grow and succeed as a prime softball centre in Ontario. Our association is a leading organization in Ontario and as such we need your support to continue to be the demonstration of excellence in the softball community.
There are plenty of ways to volunteer throughout the year, including:
Off season Volunteers
Weekly requirements
Tournament needs:

End of Season
We are allowing for 1 head coach and 2 assistant coaches per team to cover volunteer bonds. Executive members will also be covered and we do have positions open if this is something that interests you. Adult Umpires are also covered under this bond. If you are interested in Umpiring please let us know and reach out directly to our Umpire Chief Lance for more information.
Here is how it works. On the website (www.wilmotthunder.com) there is a link in the top menu for Volunteer Sign Up.
Then go in and register for one of the non-coaching volunteer options.
Please feel free to reach out to PJ Poirier at ppoirier@wilmotthunder.com for more information or clarification. Volunteer spots will start to open by the end of the month as we begin to load the system. More volunteer opportunities will be added as details regarding our clinics, tournaments, and booth schedule are finalized in the coming weeks. We all want to have a successful season, and this is a step in the right direction for our organization.
Thank you,
WSA Executive
